AFC South Predictions for the 2015 Season

Updated on August 28, 2015

Here are my predictions for the AFC South as the 2015 season approaches.

Houston Texans: KC, @CAR, TB, @ATL, IND, @JAX, @MIA, TEN, BYE, @CIN, NYJ, NO, @BUF, NE, @IND, @TEN, JAX

Notable Additions: WR Cecil Shorts III, NT Vince Wilfork, FS Rahim Moore

Indianapolis Colts: @BUF, NYJ, @TEN, JAX, @HOU, NE, NO, @CAR, DEN, BYE, @ATL, TB, @PIT, @JAX, HOU, @MIA, TEN

Notable Additions: G Todd Herremans, OLB Trent Cole, WR Andre Johnson, RB Frank Gore, S Dwight Lowery

Losses: WR Reggie Wayne, RB Ahmad Bradshaw, OLB Shaun Phillips, DT Ricky Jean Francois, DE Cory Redding

Jacksonville Jaguars: CAR, MIA, @NE, @IND, @TB, HOU, BUF, BYE, @NYJ, @BAL, TEN, SD, @TEN, IND, ATL, @NO, @HOU

Additions: TE Julius Thomas, DE Jared Odrick, RB Bernard Pierce, OT Jermey Parnell

Additions: Assistant Dick LeBeau, WR Harry Douglas, S Da'Norris Searcy, OLB Brian Orakpo, TE Anthony Fasano, WR Hakeem Nicks,

Losses: WR Nate Washington, S Bernard Pollard, RB Shonn Greene, OT Michael Oher,

AFC South End Result: From Coaches Bill O'Brian and Mike Vrabel to Linebacker Brian Cushing, it's been entertaining watching the Texans on Hard Knocks. Newly added Quentin Demps looks like a fit on the roster and running back Chris Polk has brought in a positive vibe filling in for Arian Foster. A potential playoff team in the making, Houston can win some critical games the last month of the season.

Nothing really can be said about Indianapolis other than the defense problem. Hopefully the Colts feel that adding outside linebacker Trent Cole (33 in October) and Safety Dwight Lowery can solve it. I'm projecting the season will be a bit shaky for the Colts but a victory over Denver will give them the edge in the playoff standings.

Maybe I am just over hyping how Blake Bortles will play this season, but I think Jacksonville will show up on the radar for the ESPN Playoff Simulator. I will guarantee the Jaguars will double their win total from the three they got in 2014. The next three wins will have to be achieved with some defensive magic. The fun will begin in 2016. Stay tuned Jacksonville.

I am not high on the Tennessee Titans this season. I think they should have stuck with Zach Mettenberger at quarterback and drafted somebody else with their first pick. There are some good offensive players on the Titans roster but I'm not sure how they will be on defense. I guess that's the reason they brought in longtime Steeler Defensive Coordinator Dick LeBeau to help out. Hopefully free agent addition Brian Orakpo can rid of the injury bug he has endured the past few seasons at Washington.

Indianapolis Colts (11-5)* Clinch 2nd seed and bye week for AFC

Houston Texans (10-6)

Jacksonville Jaguars (8-8)

Tennessee Titans (4-12)
